Fortunately our areas are comparatively safe for residents, and low in terms of crimes committed. Naturally we all want to keep it that way and to work with the police to keep our communities safe. A key person in all of this is our community police officer who attends the Community Council on a regular basis, provides us with reports, and addresses questions and concerns.

Safety Information for Residents
Lothian and Borders Police and the Scottish Executive produce many useful pamphlets and leaflets that give advice on crime prevention. Here are some examples:
- ‘Don’t make it easy for the thief’ – a guide to what you can do around and within your home to improve your security.

- ‘Talking Sense’ – a guide to women’s safety.
